The Best Dog Parks & Beaches in Las Vegas

Las Vegas has big, free, fully fenced dog parks all over the valley — the rules are easy, the heat is not. Clark County is blunt about it: summer pavement can run 40–60°F hotter than the air, up to about 160°F, enough to burn paw pads in seconds, and the county legally requires owners to provide cooling (misters, pools, fans) for pets once it hits 105°F. So the move is the same as Phoenix: go at dawn or after dark, hand-test the ground first, and bring water. Here are the best fenced off-leash parks across Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson — including one with a dogs-only splash pad — each verified against the official source.

Las Vegas dog parks & beaches: FAQ

Is it too hot to take my dog to a Las Vegas dog park?
In summer, midday is dangerous. Clark County warns that pavement can run 40–60°F hotter than the air — up to about 160°F — which can burn paw pads in seconds (if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws). The county legally requires owners to provide supplemental cooling (misters, fans, a kiddie pool) for pets once temperatures hit 105°F or an Extreme Heat Warning is in effect — shade and water alone aren’t enough. Go at dawn or after dark, and carry water.
Are Las Vegas dog parks fenced and free?
Yes — every spot here, across Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Henderson, is a fully fenced, free city or county dog park, and most are split into separate runs by dog size (some also have a senior-dog run). They’re off-leash all day during park hours.
Do Las Vegas dog parks close for maintenance?
Some do. Barkin’ Basin’s dog areas close Mondays and Thursdays 11:30 AM–4 PM, and Craig Ranch closes Wednesdays 6–8 AM. Henderson’s Heritage park occasionally closes individual sections for repairs. Check the spot before you head out.
Where can my dog cool off at a Vegas dog park?
There’s no natural swim water in the valley, but the Bark Park at Heritage Park in Henderson has a seasonal dogs-only splash pad — a genuine cooling perk in the desert summer. Otherwise, bring water and use the shaded sections, and consider the larger county parks’ trees.
Where can my dog be off-leash right now?
Open the live map — each spot shows whether off-leash is allowed at the current date and time. In summer, factor in the heat regardless of the posted hours.
Can I add a spot?
Yes — open the live map, drop a pin, snap a photo, and it’s on the map for every dog owner.
