- Each side has a dedicated dog pond — drained and cleaned weekly (Fri 1–2:30 PM closure), and the whole park closes Tuesday mornings for maintenance, so time your visit around those windows.
- Gulf Coast heat/humidity plus a downtown setting means lots of hardscape that radiates heat; come early/late and use the dog-wash stations and shade.
- City of Houston rules: dogs must wear visible City registration and rabies tags; leashed in the transition corridor, off-leash only inside the fenced areas.
