Rancho San Rafael Off-Leash Pasture
Reno's big open off-leash run: a large working pasture on the west side of Rancho San Rafael, the only part of this 600+ acre regional park where dogs may run off-leash. Wide-open space rather than a tidy fenced yard.
Unfenced — the livestock fencing won’t contain dogs, and busy roads surround the park, so reliable voice control is essential.
The pasture is flood-irrigated April–October, so expect mud and uneven footing in warmer months.
At ~4,500 ft with hot dry summers and cold winters there’s little shade out in the open; carry water and watch paws on frozen or sun-baked ground.
