Together Treasure Valley Dog Island (Ann Morrison)
Boise's marquee off-leash spot: a 5.4-acre dog island in the southwest corner of Ann Morrison Park, ringed by a pond where dogs swim and play, with a separate fenced 'shy dog' area. It's open year-round, unlike the rest of Ann Morrison's winter-only off-leash program.
Only the small 'shy dog' area is fenced; the main 5.4-acre area is unfenced, so reliable voice control and recall are required near the surrounding pond.
Pond water levels are lowered in winter, so swimming is effectively a warm-season activity; use caution near the water edges off-season.
High-desert summers get hot — bring water and watch for overheating; winters are cold and muddy.
