Off-leash beach · Presidio / Marina · Crissy Field, 1199 East Beach, San Francisco, CA 94129
Crissy Field
A flat bayfront with a sandy beach, lawn and promenade and postcard Golden Gate Bridge views — one of the calmest places to let a dog splash in the Bay. Off-leash voice control is allowed across most of it, with a seasonal leash zone protecting shorebird habitat.
Off-leash is allowed EXCEPT in picnic areas and the Wildlife Protection Area (shoreline north of the Promenade), where dogs must be leashed all year except May 15–July 1.
Dogs are entirely prohibited in the Crissy Field tidal marsh, inlet and fenced/signed vegetation areas.
Calm bay water (not ocean surf) makes it the gentlest off-leash beach swim in the city.
