Prospect Park & Dog Beach
Brooklyn's most famous off-leash destination — during off-leash hours dogs run free across the Long Meadow, Nethermead and Peninsula Meadow, and splash at the legendary Dog Beach, a shallow shoreline on the Lake near the Lullwater. From 9 AM to 9 PM dogs must be leashed.

Good to know
Off-leash only 6–9 AM and 9 PM–1 AM; Dog Beach is open for swimming only during those windows — the water drops off deep fast, so supervise closely.
Off-leash is allowed in the Long Meadow (not the ballfields), Nethermead and Peninsula Meadow (not the woodlands); dogs are never allowed in playgrounds, on ballfields or on bridle paths.
Leashes must be 6 ft or shorter outside off-leash hours; carry proof of license and rabies vaccination.
