Good to know
- Free, no permit; maintained by NOLA Parks & Parkways after the city took over the park in 2025.
- Sparse shade, no fountains or benches in the run itself, and exposed riverfront sun — bring your own water.
- Keep dogs leashed everywhere except inside the fenced run; the Mississippi is fast, industrial and not for swimming. (A Jan 2026 riverfront fire affected nearby structures — confirm gate status before visiting.)
