The off-leash dog park inside the park formerly called Christopher Columbus Park, renamed Danny Lopez Park in Feb 2025 to honor a Tohono O'odham elder. A lighted 1-acre fenced facility with a Fido fountain, scrambling area and shade ramada, next to Silverbell Lake.

Desert-heat safety: pea-gravel and dirt surfaces bake in summer and burn paws — go at dawn or dusk, test the ground with your hand, and bring water.
Dogs CANNOT swim in Silverbell Lake — the City prohibits swimming and wading (it’s a fish-habitat/water-storage lake); the only water is the Fido fountain.
Closed for maintenance Wednesdays 9 AM–1 PM.
