Picnic Island Beach Dog Park
Tampa's second official off-leash dog beach — a gated, fenced sandy beach just south of the fishing pier where dogs run and swim freely in calm Tampa Bay water. One of the best off-leash dog beaches in the bay area.
The dog beach is a separate gated/fenced section south of the fishing pier; the rest of the park beach is not the off-leash area.
Florida sun and heat are no joke — bring water, use the shaded seating, and avoid midday; an outdoor shower and restrooms are on site for rinse-off.
Gradual sandy entry into the bay, but it’s tidal — check the tide, rinse the saltwater off afterward, and watch for shells.
