The Beechwood Blvd area is fenced with split large/small-dog yards; leash your dog to and from the access points (city rule).
Dogs swim in Nine Mile Run, but the watershed steward (UpstreamPgh) warns the stream still carries high bacteria from sewage overflows and urban runoff — avoid wading for a day or two after rain.
The old 'Hot Dog Dam' swimming hole on Lower Tranquil Trail has been cut off since the Fern Hollow bridge collapse — check access before relying on it.
