Basin AH1 Dog Park (El Capitan)
A fully fenced, grassy off-leash field set inside a stormwater retention basin off Alamos at El Capitan, locally called El Capitan Dog Park. Open only in the dry season (May–Nov); in summer, volunteers set out kiddie pools so dogs can cool off.

Seasonal: the basin is designed to flood, so the park closes roughly December–April and can shut on short notice after rain.
The "water" is summer wading pools and hoses, not a swimmable pond — the basin only fills when the park is closed.
No food (human or dog) allowed; bring your own water. Central Valley heat regularly tops 100°F — come early or late.
